Madrid airport: transfer between terminals 4S to terminal 2

Hello everyone, I'm new here and I really need your advice and help regarding this issue.
ok here is the thing:

I will be flying from GUATEMALA CITY, (central america ) into Madrid arriving Terminal 4S and I need to transfer to terminal 2 for another flight. My final destination is Cairo, Egypt.
.
I need to claim luggage upon arrival as the flight to Cairo will not be on the same ticket (unrelated airlines).... and this second ticket will make a stop in Rome, .. so basicalli it's:
GUATEMALA-MADRID (FIRST TICKET) with IBERIA
MADRID-ROME-CAIRO (SECOND TICKET) with ALITALIA

the second flight will depart the same day than the day I arrive to madrid... and it departs at 5:45 pm.... according to the first flight .. I arrive to madrid at 13:25 pm which means i only have aprox 4 hrs to transfer to the right terminal and go through inmigration and pick up luggage and check in the second flight.,

I would appreciate anybody with experience on this kind of transfer to advice me or tell me if this is enough time to have everything in order......
please note.: I AM LATIN AMERICAN AND CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT WE (LATINAMERICANS) ARE NOT SO WELCOMED IN EUROPE DUE TO ALL THE ILLEGAL MIGRATION ISSUES AND ALSO CONSIDERNG THE FACT THAT MY DESTINATION IS IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND I TRAVEL ALONE .... I AM AFRAID THE PEOPLE AT THE AIRPORT OR AT MIGRATION WILL SUSPECT OR ANYTHING ...

PS: IT'S THE SECOND TIME I MAKE THIS TRIP TO EGYPT SO I ALREADY HAVE STAMPS ON MY PASSPORT FROM MADRID AND CAIRO...
THE FIRST TIME I ARRIVED TO MADRID I DIDNT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS... JUST A COP THAT WAS ASKING ME WHY I WAS GOING TO EGYPT ALONE...

PLEASEEEEEE HELP!!! ADIVICE ME

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Since you already made that trip before (and I doubt anyone has done it), I guess you have more expertise to answer your questions than anyone else here.

I've never heard of any problems with (illegal) immigration from Latin America in Europe. You may be mixing that up with the US. Spain has massive problems with illegal immigration from Africa, and probably drug-trafficking from South America. I'm pretty sure you are in neither category.

Assuming that you are a citizen of Guatemala, you can enter the Schengen area (of which both Spain and Italy are part of, as many other European countries) for tourist travels up to 90 days without a visa. Countries whose citizens are not "welcome" or are suspected to be a source of substantial illegal immigration would not get that visa waiver status. Por eso, ¡cálmate!, y bienvenidos :-)

Even though you fly on different airlines, you could/should be able to check your luggage thru to Cairo from Guatemala City. Ask at check-in.
So you would at least save the time fo re-check luggage in Madrid.
But in any case, four hours seems like enough time, even if you have to re-check your luggage.

Spain has, ( at least USED TO HAVE) massive illegal immigration from SA. People come as tourists but never leave. But all this is beside the point.

Just follow the signs to luggage claim and you will later go out the door to the street to catch the free, frequent bus to T2 which will be marked. Many people are doing the same and the signage is good.

If your paperwork is in order then you should not have a problem making the connecting flight at T2. It will all depend on how long the check-in line is at the ticket counter in T2.

Here is another guide to the airport from its own website.
http://www.aena-aeropuertos.es/csee/...terminals.html
Barajas is quite a sprawling place with Terminal 4 a good distance from the other, smaller terminals. The link offers a schematic diagram of the shuttle buses and advice on their use, although the estimated times of transit seem optimistic to me. You can print out maps of the terminals to carry with you as navigational guides.
I agree with previous advice that you should check with your originating airline to see if your bags can be checked through.

Or maybe the same link as the previous post. Duuuuh.
Oh, a polite request, turn off your all-caps print which is hard to read.
