Madrid Airport Luggage Storage

My wife and I will be in Madrid for an extended layover (May 6th) and hope to tour the Prado. Is there any luggage storage at the Madrid airport and if so, where is it located? Is it lockers or do you drop off the bags with people at a desk? Our Iberian flight lands at either the Terminal 1 or 4. Is the storage on the secure side of security (near the gates) or the unsecure side? Any tips on the Prado? Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Is there a left-luggage office at the airport?

There are three left-luggage offices at the airport: the first in T1, the second in T2 and the third in T4. All baggage left at the left-luggage office passes through an x-ray checkpoint to verify that they do not contain dangerous items or objects.

Dear AAFrequentFlyer:
Thanks for the info. A friend thought there were lockers in Terminal 1 and 2 but nothing in Terminal 4. More likely we will land at Terminal 4 than Terminal 1. It's great to hear from you about the left luggage service in Terminal 4. Thanks again and Happy Travels!

Iberia and all members of the Oneworld Alliance lands on the T4.

When they opened the T4 two years ago, it didnīt have lockers or a Renfe office. Now, the left luggage lockers are located near the Ars cafeteria, once you get out (what you would call the unsecure area).

I have just remember something regarding your previous questions. If you donīt use a monthly or yearly card, or the Tourist ticket, you will have to pay a supplement of 1 euro to travel by metro from and to the airport (any of the terminals).

As I was recommending the metro to Nuevos Ministerios and then bus to the Prado, I think the 1 day Tourist Pass ( 4 euros since the first of January ) is good value.

Just returned from a trip to Spain and here are the rates for the lockers.
Big lockers (comfortably holds a 30 inch suitcase) first day is 3.70 euros. additional days for up to 15 days is euros 4.78. not sure what the prices are post 15 days.
small lockers easily holds up to 28 inch suitcase. Price for first day is same as large lockers, each addtional day for upt ot 15 days is 3.72 euros. not sure about price after that. its important to note that they only accept cash- NO CREDIT CARDS accepted here!
