madrid airport hotel

Due to illness, my daughter has had to reschedule her flight from San Francisco to Alicante at the last minute. She now needs to spend the night in Madrid before going on to Alicante. Can anyone recommend a safe hotel near the airport? She has to catch a 7 a.m. flight. (We are also looking into the possibility of taking the train instead of using the last leg of her air ticket.)

I'm answering my own post in case anyone else has the same question.
The Clement Barajas gets good reviews, is 3 minutes from the airport, has a 24 hour shuttle and free wifi.

We've stayed at the Clement Barajas and found it to be very comfortable. We'd be happy to stay there again. One nice feature is that it's in a town, not some isolated airport hotel desert, so you can go outside to cafes, shops etc.

Be sure to schedule the shuttle with plenty of time in the morning. I think "3 minutes from the airport" is a little optimistic.

A second for the Clement Barajas.

Maribel, some of the US customers at our company have started to stay at the new Hilton Barajas.

It might be a good option, specially for people with points and so on.

Bye, Cova

Hi cova,
Yes, I thought about that for PJ's daughter but I was concerned about cost. But for those with points (or on an expense account), certainly!
Rooms are quite large and have those "heavenly beds", I think.

Thank you for confirming that the Clement would be suitable.
