I have booked my first night's arrival in Madrid at Hotel Europa
I will arrive back in Spain on Friday, 09/11/09. I have heard good and bad reports on Hotel Europa. Anyway...where else have people stayed in the $70.00 euro price range?
I will arrive by train and will need a place to stay for 2 nights. I won't have seen much on arriving so will want to see some of Madrid on my last two nights there.
Fly out on Sunday for Italy. My flight leaves at 13.25 hrs. The Mayor is booked for that time.

I hate to say this again but I am on a fixed budget.

That is a great price....It is supposed to be very clean according to a friend who liked staying there in all the action. Unless you find a hotel that includes breakfast for same price.Will check

In a very busy/noisy area-ask for an interior room,has a decent restaurant/cafe for people watching!

It's a great hotel, just ask for an interior room or take earplugs, it can be noisy on weekends, not so much during the week. We were there during the "Rainbow" weekend and it was loud!

It is very clean and the reception staff are very helpful. It's very convenient to the Sol Metro stop and a great pedestrian shopping area. Have fun!

It is our hotel of choice when in Madrid. We think it is a great hotel and don't understand why it is only rated at 3 stars. Noise is relative. We always ask for a front room with the tiny balcony so we can overlook and watch the action on the pedestrian mall. As long as you are operating on the Madrid/Spain time schedule, noisy is not a problem.
