Madrid 2 nights

Hello. My husband (33) and I (24) are going to be in Madrid for two nights. We would like something in the middle of everything and 'touristy' :) Can someone recommend hotels and neighborhoods to stay in for the end of April.

Thanks in advance!

viancalifornia:

Check out the centrally located Hotel Plaza Mayor. I've stayed there twice and found it quite comfortable and reasonably priced. It's popular, so if you think it's an option, you should act quickly.

Hotel Plaza Mayor, as recommended above, is a decent 2-star property in the center of the city. There are also a number of hotels in and around the popular Plaza Santa Ana. Where you stay will depend on your budget. You might want to take a look at Maribel's Guide to Madrid Hotels for her recommendations (www.maribelsguides.com).

My vote would definately be to stay near the Plaza Santa Ana.

Hey there, I recommend you a really nice hotel where I´ve stayed once and it´s located right in the center of Madrid, in Gran Via street, easy to reach by metro or bus. The staff was nice and helpful giving us information about touristic places and all kind of events around the city. The name of the place is Hostal la Plata and this is their official website http://www.hostal-laplata.com/castel...tal-madrid.htm I would be glad if this helps you :)

Oh and they also have an English version of the website if your Spanish is not so good www.hostal-laplata.com/en

Another vote for the vibrant Plaza Santa Ana/majestic Plaza Mayor area, these two landmark plazas are just some 300 meters apart. Lots of tapas bars, restaurants, cafés, clubs etc around here. Walking distance to the major museums, the wonderful Retiro park, the Royal castle etc. Great nightlife and the best jazz and flamenco clubs in town are on your doorstep (jazz: Café Central, Populart - flamenco tablaos: Casa Patas, Cardamomo, Las Carboneras).

Five mins walking to one of the best tapas bar/restaurant districts in town, in and around C/ Cava Baja just off Plaza Mayor.
