madrid

Hi there! My husband and I will be traveling to Eastern europe in December and we are gonna be staying in madrid for 3 nights. Where should we stay? Which neighborhood would you guys recommend? We are in our early 30’. Would really appreciate any help!

oh, just sort of the usual advice for any big city, somewhere relatively central is most convenient, and not too far from a metro stop, for most. But that depends how much you intend to do there.

Some people like the area near the Prado or immediately west of it anyway, some people like plaza Santa Ana, some Plaza Mayor or near the Opera, etc, any of those would work.

Madrid is usually cool (or rainy) in Dec..
if you are interested in museums- near Prado
the Palace - near Opera
many bars and restaurants - Plaza Mayor ( there are bars and restaurants all over Madrid of course)

The last two locations are close ...Madrid’s public transit is excellent, taxis are cheap.

I would recommend Plaza Spa Ana. Close to everything and a lot of restaurants and life. Our home was Room Mate. Boutique hope but very nice. They also provide a free mobile wifi.

hope this helps.
