Lyon hotel help please!

Looking for a good hotel in a good location for being able to walk to everything in Lyon. Am looking at the following hotels:
Le Phenix
Grand Hotel de la Paix
Best Western Hotel du Pont Wilson
Hotel des Artistes
Would really appreciate any comments on the above or alternative suggestions.

Lyon is a vey walkable town for the tourist areas. Where are the hotels located?

We stayed at a great apt, La Loge des Avocats, in the Vieux Lyon. It had a super location and was reasonably priced for our stay. They also have another apt in the area.

I stayed at the Mercure Beaux Arts in Lyon. I generally like Accor hotels in France, and chose it because it has a very good central location and still has a period decor (not bland modern as many do).

I really really liked that hotel, not only was it convenient, the hotel was really very attactive and the staff very nice and competent.

I think the BW Pont Wilson isn't as convenient location, it's on the other side of the river (away from the center on the other side of the Rhone).

I love the Hôtel La Résidence, on a pedestrian-only street just a couple of blocks from the Place Bellecoeur. It has some of the largest rooms I've ever seen in France, is very nicely decorated and comfortable, and the staff are lovely.

What's your budget? Have you looked at the Grand Hotel des Terreaux on Rue Lanterne? A very nice place and you couldn't be more central.
