Lyon Hoel

I'll be going to Paris in Mid November and pan on going down to Lyon for a couple of days. Can anyone reccommend a 2 star hotel at which they stayed and obviously liked?

I think you will find that the hotel rates in Lyon are very agreeable to the pocket - you might easily want to go up to 3*
We stayed in the Boscolo Grand near the old town which was a really good 4* - a real treat for 2 nights!
Look on expedia. www.expedia.co.uk or www.expedia.com

The 3* Hotel Residence is in an excellent location on the main walking street and within walking distance of the old town. There is free internet access in the lobby too. The rates o 2006 are 73 Euro for a single or a double.

We stayed there is March and found it very nice.

Based on the very good reviews on TripAdvisor , we've booked Hotel La Residence for 73€ per night for a double.
Location looks excellent

Hi Josep, I stayed at the Hotel Citadine Part Dieux, which is across the parking lot from the Part-Dieu train station. TGV/local trains/Metro all leave from this station. Rates were 45E weeknight, 65E weekend nights. Booked it thru SNCF site. Good, clean basic accomodations, not luxurious. Nieghbourhood is fine, ATM, Post Office nearby, nothing much to see touristically, but Metro is what I used everyday to go to those places.I have pictures of the room if you are interested, and I posted a trip report last October on Lyons.
