lyon - airport to train station

I don't have a map of Lyon yet, so I'm wondering where the train station is, in relation to downtown. And how does one get from the airport to the train station - bus? Do you know length of journey/cost? Thanks!

It about 25 kilometers (15 miles) from Lyon Sartolas Airport to the city centre.
There is a bus every 20 minutes to both
Part Dieu Station and Perrache Station. Same bus for both, don't know the cost, but should'nt be much. Make sure you know which station you need; you'll also need French francs for the fare.
Regards.

I think the bus cost is around 50 FF per person.

There is also a train station right at the airport primarily for the TGV (high speed) trains.

cj: We took the bus Tony describes last May; you can buy a roundtrip fare and save a few francs, if you like. The Perrache train station is in the older part of the city, probably closer to many of the tourist sites you may visit. We stayed first & last night of trip in an inexpensive hotel near Perrache recommended by Frommer. There's also a couple of car rental places at Perrache.
