Luzern Expert? Schuler?

I am looking for information on the Hotel Beau Sejour au Lac in Luzern, Switzerland. From reading posts here, I think that the poster Schuler lives near Luzern.

There are no reviews of this hotel on Trip Advisor. It seems to be a family hotel that caters to Swiss insiders. It doesn't seem to be a "tourist" hotel. The owner has contacted me by email and it appears he speaks only German.

I have been to Luzern before and have passed by this hotel whilst walking along the lake. It looks like a very pretty hotel, but I don't know what the rooms are like or if the hotel is noisy and has problems like no hot water, lumpy beds, inedible breakfast, etc. Previously, I stayed at the Hotel Montana.

The owner has a room for me in September. I will be in Luzern for 2 days after coming back from hiking in the Bernese Oberland.

If Schuler knows anything about this hotel I would appreciate feedback.

If anyone else knows about this hotel, please post your comments here.

I could stay at the Hotel Royal if the Beau Sejour is not up to snuff.

Thank you for any help you can give me,
P. Peppington

P_P,

Sorry, can't help with the hotel, but make sure you have a nice flask for the hiking part.

Sorry, I've never heard of it. I go practically every Friday into Luzern due to a course. Maybe you could tell me where it is?

P.S. sorry for the delay in answering. After my New York trip, I needed a break from Fodor's and trip planning.

Thank you, schuler, but I have booked another hotel.

The Beau Sejour is on the lake, very near the Transportation Museum.

I passed it last year and thought it looked very pretty. Oh, well.

Swiss Passes give you a hefty discount at the Swiss Transport Museum and also cover in full the lake boats that dock right by the museum, by the Camping Municipal where I once stayed for several wonderful days - perhaps you want to consider the Camping Municipal for the best deal in town and one of the best views plus you will be well positioned to visit the museum early on in the day before horrendous crowds lie humungous school groups materialize. Best wishes for a lovely Lucerne sojourn!
