Luxury Scottish cruises

Have heard about a luxury tour by boat around the northern tip of Scotland. Anyone have any more information?

I imagine it's the Hebridean Princess

My mother in law is addicted to Hebridean Princess cruises. But there's a very important health warning.

These are excellent ways of seeing Scotland, comfortable, exceptionaly pleasant and with courteous, helpful staff. But they're absolutely not luxurious in the sense of using huge, lavishly equipped ships or dressing up to the nines.

They're what a normal, affluent, intellectually alert Briton would regard as highly enjoyable. Shore excursions in a motorised rubber dinghy (to get to tricky beaches and coves): properly unpredictable weather so you can enjoy yourself and not waste your life frying in the sun, evenings spent over pleasant food and a decent range of whiskies.

But not a fawning flunky, casino or marble-tiled bathroom to be seen anywhere.

Sounds perfect to me. I've got the brochure for Hebridean Princess cruises, now it's just a matter of coming up with the fundage.

For anyone interested, there's another cruise line called The Majestic www.themajesticline.co.uk which is less expensive.

Nothing quite like being intimidated into an answer is there?
