Luxury Paris Hotel

Can anyone reccommend a luxury Paris hotel, money is no issue. I recall a thread posted about the hotel where "sex in the city" was filmed, can anyone enlighten me as to which one it was?
Thanks

It's the Hotel Plaza Athenee which is located in the 8th district.

Check out The Raphael. We were there a few weeks ago and it was a very nice place. Exceptional service and very large luxurious rooms. There is a rooftop terrace with a 360 view of the city that is especially good at night. The hotel is located right between the Arc de Triomph and the Eiffle Tower.

Have fun!

You will be quite spoiled for choice in Paris. Some to consider:

Ritz
Georges V
Plaza Athénéé
Hotel Bristol

Take a look at Leading Hotels of the World (lhw.com) and Small Luxury Hotels (slh.com) for these and other wonderful hotels. Run a search here for opinions.

My choice would be the Georges V or the Plaza Athénéé, with the Hotel Bristol a very close third.

You might also consider the Lancaster.

...also the newly renovated Meurice.

Having stayed at all of the above mentioned hotels,I will offer my opinion that the
Ritz is really one of the world's finest
hotels.

Certainly the Crillon.

George V or the Ritz.

Another vote for the George V - even the standard rooms are incredible - never mind the suites.

As a child I always stayed at the George V, and I'd never consider anywhere else!

What it really boils down to is what neighborhood you want to be in.

Keep in mind that most (but not all) of these four star luxe hotels have some rooms
that are less than luxurious.

Always ask to see the room before you check in. If you don't like it, don't take it! Ask to be shown another.

MK...I had lots of lovely opportunities in my youth...Stepdaddy was well heeled...

Boy-o-boy, my adult life didn't turn out that way! <GRIN>

I had time to check out the websites, so... IF money were no object, I go to the Crillon and stay in the Duc de Crillon Suite. I probably would not see much more of Paris either...but ??
If one takes one's dog with them to the Crillon, I have heard that the hotel puts a special tag on the little dear that says, "IF I am lost, please immediately return me to the Crillon".

having stayed at the lancaster, athenee and the GEO V, my vote goes for GEO V. the lancaster and the athenee both have a more "parisien" feel, but the rooms and bathrooms at the GEO V are far superior. whichever you choose, go sit either in the bar our in the lobby area outside the bar at the athenee and just watch the people, very entertaining.

George V! It's a Four Seasons hotel and that says it all. I would love to try the Crillon, but Can't resist the Four Seasons.
