Luxury apartments in UK?
 

I'm organising a UK honeymoon tour for this October, and so I'm looking for some luxury accommodation in various cities including Edinburgh, Manchester, London and Bristol. Anyone know of any?

It depends on what you mean by luxury accommodation. Do you require a suite, room service, an in-hotel restaurant and bar, a spa?

I can highly recommend the place we stayed in Edinburgh: www.20albanystreet.co.uk. We had the Robert Adam suite, which was large and had a luxuriously large bathroom with both a shower and a clawfoot tub. It's located in the New Town in Edinburgh, walkable to sights in both the New Town and the Royal Mile. (I can also highly recommend the smoked salmon with eggs for breakfast. And I'm picky about my salmon.)

I would think luxury means on tap butler. ;-)

I didn't know butlers came out of the tap.

It would help to know:

You nightly budget in pounds or $ (London esp is not cheap and a room in a luxury hotel is likely to be more than $500 per night - often much more)

It would also help to know what you mean by luxury (size of rooms, service, spa, luxury restaurant, etc). I fyou do want a place with floor butlers the price will be much higher.

London is harder- there are so many options so I guess I need to decide where I want to be based. It seems like I need to go out of the centre to get something worth the money!

Depends what you mean by 'out of the center. A bit out of the center (like near the Tower or in Kensington or in Hampstead or Highgate can make sense (these are essentially on the edges of central London. But being in outer London will only complicate your stay time and travel-wise.

A serviced apartment doesn't mean it is luxury. There are down market flats and posh ones. Same w/ hotels -- some hotels are VERY posh/up market, some not so much.

At that time the flat was traditionally furnished, very clean and I think maid service was included every day or every other day.

Great location IF that's the location you want, if that makes sense.

The Athenaeum definitely qualifies as luxury . . . and expensive. Like £500 to over £2000 a night depending on the unit. Is that in your budget?

For a serviced apartment, the ones at the Capital in Basil Street look fabulous, and it's a great location.

Great- so far we've covered Manchester, Bristol, London, Edinburgh.
