mkingdom,
just a quick note to second cicerone's review.
My husband and I spent four nights at the Riverside before Christmas and enjoyed the hotel and Prague very much. We had the fifth floor corner suite on the Castle side which offered a glimpse of the castle, the State Theater and the river.
We had booked a junior suites but the room was very large with a completely separate sitting room. The bathrooms are gorgeous and the decor is lovely. The staff were helpful and the concierge was extremely responsive via email to all of my questions before we arrived.
While the rooms are very luxurious, and beautifully appointed, as others have noted the property doesn't have alot of public space. There is a very small bar and no restaurant. Plus it's a little bit of a walk to find good quality restaurants...this may be less of an issue on a warm summer night than it was in December!
We enjoyed the hotel (particularly because we paid $625 for 4 nights and a host of extras...transfers/walking tour etc through Luxury Link)but I would consider a more central property next time we visit Prague. Friends of our raved about the Four Seasons though I was worried it might have a more generic feel.
Hope that helps!
