Lunch spot ideas - Eygaliers or Plaisians
Hi,
We'll be doing a nice long ride (likely about 70-80kms) on our bikes and are trying to find a nice place for lunch, that is not too formal, but yummy. We'll be in our cycling clothes afterall! The ride will go by Plaisians and Eygaliers north of Ventoux. Plaisians seems interesting as it's down a windy road (which usually means a nice hill) and I've not heard of it. Any suggestions, recommendations? |
Egaliers is a lovely town and when we return to Provence we will visit there again.
|
Has anyone eaten in either of these villages?
Thanks for any feedback you can provide. Jen |
Eygalieres is where we had been staying for over ten years. This year will be Maussane. There are several restos there, from expensive, The Bistro de Eygalieres (Chez Bru), to the inexpensive Café Progres. The petite Bru is now Italian. and there's the
Les Micocouliers. |
Thanks cigalechata. Since we'll be in the area can you recommend any other places/shops/things we should see/visit/do?
We'll be staying in Bedoin and doing day trips to areas that we are interested in. thanks |
Jen, it's difficult for me to suggest when not knowing the person's taste.
I love animals and nature and so one of my favorite places to visit is L'Harmas of J.H Fabre. in Serignan du Comtat. %k from Orange(the Amphitheatre is a wow) Fabre was a enthomoogist. The museum was his home and garden. I own many of his translated works. PLAISIANS is on my list. Someone suggestd to me to lunch at the Auberge de la Clu. WWW.provenceweb.com, www.provencebeyond.com are sites you should visit there will be alphabets to find a village you maybe interested in and will tell you the sights to see. I hop this helps. |

Very helpful. I looked up Fabre...very interesting. I think we'll go to Orange instead of Avignon.
