Lunch prior to Orly flight- coming from Rouen

Our flight out of Orly is at 4PM on a Saturday. Given that it is a flight through Heathrow to Boston it will be a long day of traveling and airline food.

I was thinking that a nice lunch close to the airport would ease the pain of leaving France. Any suggestions?

Would we be nuts to leave Rouen early and stop at Giverny? TIA

Actually I like a restaurant IN airport. Might be Hippopotamus. I had a hamburger last times and it was quick and good enough.
Restaurant is I between 2 terminals left from the air FRANCE zone.
Bon appetit !

It will take you about 90 minutes or so to get from Rouen to Giverny, then take into account the time you'll spend in the gardens (maybe 3 hours?), lunch somewhere along the way (90 mins?), then add at least 2 hours to get from Giverny to Orly, then add at least 3 hours before your plane departs.
1.5 + 3 + 1.5 + 2 + 3 = 11 hours.

Nah.

I'd look for someplace nice for lunch in Rouen, have some champagne and relax. There's no place to eat remotely close to Orly, unfortunately, but you could amuse yourself at one of the restaurants while you're there.

I don't think we have time to have lunch in Rouen and make an international flight leaving Orly at 4.

You are saying you have a flight between these two cities that does not require a plane change or a long enough layover at LHR to get some non-airline food?

Which airline?

I agree, you don't have enough time to have lunch in Rouen - or anywhere except the airport - if you want to go to Giverny, which, by the way, opens at 10 AM.

If there's a chance to stock up on picnic food that you can bring on the plane, I would do that.

Here's a plan of Orly aeroport, so you can see which restaurants you have to choose from. Some might prefer airplane food...

it's just food, you aren't going to starve to death. I agree, if this is so important, you should buy some food to take on-board, if you don't have enough time in London to buy something between flights.

yes, I think you would be nuts to think you can visit Giverny and have lunch before getting to Orly at around 2 pm, when you start your day in Rouen. I presume you plan to get there a couple hours before your flight? The drive from Giverny to Orly, without any problems, takes about 1:20 hrs.

okay, if you visit Giverny for an hour (10-11) and then have lunch for one hour, it could work.

This place at Orly Sud sounds good to me but we haven't tried it.
