Lunch between Venice and Florence
We leave Venice after breakfast for our drive to San G. Is there a "charming" or "interesting" place to stop between perhaps for lunch?
|
Hi W,
It's only a 3:30 hr dr. Why not have have lunch in San G? ((I)) |
Hi ira,
After reading my post more carefully... I realize I did not compose a very clear question. Sorry. I know they are not very far apart. We have plenty of time planned for San G. So, I was just wondering if there may be a town perhaps along the Adriatic that we would enjoy spending time in. During our previous European travel we really enjoyed getting "off the beaten track". Also ira, I recently came across the "who is ira" thread. What fun to read. I did not post but had the same feeling as so many others. You are such a blessing. You are always curtious and respectful. I have learned so much from your posts. Thank You. |
i understand bologna is one of the food capitals of italy.
should be something very good there, probably also a nice agriturismo outside the city. there were some posts here about bologna recently. have also heard/read of a good restaurant outside florence on hill overlooking city. will try to find it for you. have you visited either city? |
Now if I could just learn to spell
Courteous! |
wanting to stay near water on way south, if you haven't been to ravenna, it is a jewel. full of mosaics and should not be missed.
we were with younger children so didn't go INTO buildings too much but enjoyed or short stay there. sorry, no restaurant recs for there! someone else will add, i am sure. |
Hi We,
I also suggest stopping off in Bologna if you are going on the motorway, If you take the coastal route via Ravenna and then the back roads, you will probably want lunch in Ravenna. ((I)) |
