Lunch/Beer near Heathrow?
I've got about a 4 hour layover at Heathrow and would like to take the tube a couple of stops and have lunch and a few beers. Any suggestions for a cool pub that's easy to get to and not far from the airport?

Didn't you post this a few days ago?

Yes but then it disappeared. Couldn't find the question anymore...and more importantly no replies. Got any advice?

Four hours is NOTHING at LHR - it can take 30 to 60 minutes just to get through customs/immigration, and then you need to be back in the departure terminal 2 hours prior to your flight to go back thru security and immigration.

If I only had 4 hours I wouldn't even go "landside" (through security and out to the general public areas) but would stay "airside". Sometimes the queues to get through security back to the departure areas can take forever.

There are plenty of places to eat lunch and have a few beers right in th eterminal.

If you like a good ale - the Fuller's brewery is just a couple of tube stops down from Heathrow. Brewery tours and tasting room, no lunch though;-)

Same suggestion as on your "lost" post: Windsor is a short taxi ride from LHR--it's not a tube stop, though. We overnighted there prior to an early morning flight out and enjoyed the Van Sittart (?sp) Arms pub.
