Lunch at Lasserre?

Any testimonials from those who have had lunch or dinner at the Paris restaurant Lasserre?

It has been a number of years now, but
my dinner there was excellent: perfect service, gorgeous setting, delicious food.

We were there for lunch this past spring. The four course, prix fixe lunch is on of the great bargains available in Paris! Most of the menu is available, including some pricey items. A good spot for a Saturday lunch--many of the other ** restaurants are not open then. The tables are widely spaced, service is attentive etc.

I would suggest checking out the chowhound.com site for comments on Lasserre - go to the message boards and the international board for more info

Since it had been so long since I'd been there, I just looked it up in my Zagat guide to Paris restaurants, comments and ratings are from restaurant customers.
Lasserre gets a 23 out of 30 for dood, 24 for decor and service. Comments include "sumptuous yet intimate interior", "culinary virtuosity", some find the cooking "too traditional."

Are there 2 restaurants? Lasserre and Laserre? I had heard about one on R. Cler but didn't think it was suppose to be spendy?

There is a bistro in the 7th (not on rue Cler as far as I know but rue de l'Exposition) named La Serre (serre means greenhouse in French) with SW specialties. The other, Lasserre, is very expensive--that is a French last name, I think it is named after the owner maybe?

Christina, thanks for clearing that up! We were planning on checking out the bistro! Could have been embarassing! haha!
