Luggage storage at Rome Tiburtina Bus Station?
We have to check out of our apartment at 11 a.m., but our bus from Rome to Sorrento does not leave until 3 p.m.
Does anyone know if there is luggage storage space, locker etc. available at the Tiburtina bus station? Thanks. |
No luggage storage at Tibutina, but there is at Termini which is just a few subway stops from Tiburtina. Many times your hotel will store your luggage the day of departure. Allow enough time to retrieve your lugagge as there can be lines at times.
Below ground in the Termini Wing, accessible from Forum Termini via the moving walkway, or from via Giolitti or from platform 24. Rates - 3.80 € for the first 5 hours - 0.60 € for each additional hour from the 6th to the 12th - 0.20 € for each hour after the 12th |
I already mentioned that we will be checking out of an apartment, not a hotel, so there will not be option of leaving the luggages there to be retrieved later because someone else will be checking into the Rental in Rome apartment.
So I understand that the Termini train station has luggage storage, but not the Tiburtina train (or bus) station. The Tiburtina Bus Depot is across from the Tiburtina train station so there is no luggage storage at both buildings. Thanks for the info. |
Services/information for train stations in Italy:
http://www.trenitalia.com/it/2bae55a...e90aRCRD.shtml Select a region, then servizi, and city/station. The Marozzi bus is across the street along with other private lines. The city busses are in the parking lot right beside the Tiburtina station. I don't recall any separate facilities for any of the busses other than the train station which is also the metro station. |
This is not really important ... just curiosity.
The Google satellite map clearly shows the Tiburtina train station, and (as you said), the metro buses. The intercity buses are, as you said, across the train station (separated by the train tracks), where there is also a separate building; one side of that building is Via Mazzoni, and the other side, via Stazione Tiburtina. One of the travel website (forgot which) said that the bus ticket office is in that building. That's why I concluded that there are separate buildings for the train, and the bus. I guess we'll find out in about a week!! Thanks for all your help. |
I just looked at the google map and it's a bit confusing, but I think you are right about via Mazzoni. Since we weren't buying bus tickets I didn't really pay attention to where you could purchase them. We bought our tickets in Sorrento from the bus driver. We bought tickets for the metro at Tiburtina. Where the google maps says Piazzale della Stazioni Tiburtina is where the city busses were.
