Luggage storage at Brussels train station?

Does anyone know if there is facility to store luggage at the train station?

which station? There are three main stations (Midi, Centrale, Nord) plus various smaller stations (ex. Luxembourg). If you mean Midi/Zuid, which is the main station for TGVs, Eurostar and Thalys trains, the luggage storage is in the new wing used by these trains, near the toilet facilities. Lockers and attended luggage storage available.

oops... sorry, my bad.

I'm not exactly sure. I'll be coming from Den Haag and would like to see the city a bit before heading for Brugge later in the evening.

Which station would be the best "base"?

Centraal station is where you want to land. It is a 5 minute walk to the Grand Place / Grote Markt. There are plenty of self serve lockers at Centraal in 3 sizes, plus an attended luggage room.

If you are taking the Thalys you'll have to double back because it only stops at Midi/Zuid. Take an International Express to save money and it lands at Centraal, after Nord. Very good train.

another question concerning luggage storage.. we will be arriving at the Brussels airport and taking the train to Bruges for a night.. where can we store luggage?

Trains from BRU into city center will stop at Nord, Central and then Midi - in that order.

Trains going to Brugge will depart from Midi, then Central, then Nord.

If you have a few hours you want to sightsee in Brussels, store your luggage at Central. As mentioned, there are coin-operated lockers there.

A few years ago I stowed my things in a locker in a Brugge train station (Thalys), large square boxes with no key, so you had to write or memorize the combination, on main level and very convenient. I didn't need one in Brussells, so, sorry, I didn't notice if they had them .

RKKwan, trains going TO Bruges stop first in Nord, Centrale, THEN Midi, you have it backwards. After Midi, there are only two stops on most trains to Bruges: Ghent, then Bruges. I don't know of any trains *to* Bruges that stop in Nord AFTER Midi.

Although Centrale is closer to the GP, I prefer Midi because it's the least "skeevy" of the three main Brussels train stations...parts of Centrale are dark and a bit crumbly and I don't like that long haul past all the vendors of cheap blankets, posters, etc. Midi is the most modern and has the best security.

Oh, BTilke is right. Sorry, don't know what I was thinking. Yes, trains to Brugge start from Nord, then Central, then Midi. I had it backwards.
