Luggage on the Regionale Trains

After pondering the situation, I resolved it by taking FlixBus. I just had to toss the suitcase in the lower compartment of the bus and I was good to go. The bus was really nice and not at all crowded. Bologna was the first stop after Florence, where I left from, so no problem with security of the bag. The bus station in Bologna, where I am now, is about a block from the train station. I think I'll take the bus again to Padua on my next leg, and then I'm going to take the Brenta Canal tour boat to Venice.
