Luggage Check/Storage question

Hi-
We will be need a place to store our luggage, and I think it's going to be inconvienent to double back to the hotel. Is there a luggage check in the train station in Rome and/or Florence? If so, is it a locker system or is it a baggage check with a person there?
Much thanks!
Laura

Hello Laura,

The left luggage check-in at Rome station is manned. It's downstairs at platform 24.
Not sure for Florence ...

Steve

Laura,

In Sept 99 there was a manned baggage check at the main Florence train station. Have a great time, Jean.
I can't speak for Florence, but the luggage storage in Rome, Venice and Amsterdam are first rate operations, not terribly expensive & have saved my shoulders many times.

Especially in Venice -- if you can consolidate into one bag & leave the rest at the station, your vaparreto trips will be much better!

Good to hear about these services. Is there something similar at Milan's Linate airport, so we could leave most of our bags while taking a few days in Lake Como area?

Laura,
There is a manned luggage check in the main Florence train station. Used it last month. Came in very handy; not expensive.
Have a great trip!
