lugano as day-trip from bellagio?
 

we hear lugano is a beautiful town, and would like to visit. i imagine it is easy by car from bellagio. if we had no car, can it be done by ferry?

By bus from Menaggio--about an hour.

You could be crazy people like we were and rent bikes in Bellagio and take them across the lake by ferry to Menaggio and then bike the 15ish miles to Lugano! Didn't quite know what I was getting into. Sitting on Lake Lugano having lunch was lovely but biking back was the last thing I wanted to do! If you're a biker who's in pretty good shape, I'd recommend it but if not, the bus is the way to go!
