Lufthansa Loungers - Frankfurt

I have a 3 hour lay over in frankfurt and wondering - will I be able to access the new "arrivals" lounge they have? or will I be stuck with the less-nice regular biz class lounge, which I have heard is not nice. I will be 'in transit' as I will be connecting to a flight to Cairo, but I want to use that arrivals lounge with it's buffet breakfast. Does anyone know? Thanks!!

I had a 4 hour layover in Frankfurt last week and used the Lufthansa/Star Alliance lounge. Can't say the breakfast was that great but they do have shower facilities.

Is there a new Lufthansa/Star Alliance lounge? I have flown several times through Frankfurt to India 1-3 years ago, and the lounge there really sucked. Very uncomfortable chairs, little in the way of snacks, poor internet service, etc. I am flying this route again next month biz class on United/Luft, would appreciate an update if there is a new lounge. Also, I have a full day stopover to break up my trip, and would like suggestions for things to do in Frankfurt or other towns near the airport.

Arrivals lounge is located landside, after passport control and customs. You must be a LH status holder or arriving business or first on LH flight (not codeshare), not just any Star Alliance flight. 3 hours would be doable. I wouldn't do it for less than 2 1/2 hours connecting time. Allow time for further passport check and security for your Cairo flight.

That was one of the things I hated about flying thru Frankfurt when we lived overseas. Actually, hated the whole Frankfurt airport - at least the international side. The domestic part was better.

Look on www.frankfurtonfoot.com for interesting ideas about what to do in Frankfurt, including short, half-day layovers

When I arrive at FRA I use the new arrival lounge, have shower, good breakfast selection incl. decent espresso. While showering they do a press service to my jacket..........

Wonderful!

It's open for all intl. business class+ pax until 14.00hrs (or 0200pm).

add: access for all business + pax on flights # 700+

" Frankfurt/Main International "Lufthansa Welcome Lounge" (Arrival Lounge) - Ankunftsebene, B-Ost, hinter der Gepäckausgabe (öffentlicher Bereich)"

Arrival - B-East - beyond luggage claim (public area)

So you have to proceed thru security again; maybe tight now due to time consuming security checks.

For only 3 hours it might be better to stick with the regulard transit lounges.
