Ludlow and Powis Castle, then north

We hope we will be staying in Ludlow for 1 night ...... but Mr Underhills only takes 2 night reservations on the weekend and saves tables for those staying with them....so, anyone have any recomendations for somewhere else to stay and eat in Ludlow?

After Ludlow we were going to go to Powis Castle. From there we will be headed north for 5 days in North Wales

Found Glyn Isa to use as a base, it looks lovely, anyone stayed there?

Anyway after Powis Castle we need a place to stay on our way north, any ideas?

Hibiscus is wonderful, in fact we prefered it to Mr Underhill's. You might try for a room at Dinam Hall . We actually stayed at a B&B , No 28 . The rooms were large, well equipped and an excellent breakfast.

I thought I'd look up the websites for you , but it looks like both Dinham Hall and No 28 only take 2 night bookings at the week-end.

I think you will find most of the nice places do require two-night bookings on weekends. Is there any way you can alter your itinerary to stay 2 nights? (2-night stays are usually easier anyway)

We're at Yew Tree Cottage in Turkdean for 3 nights (September 13,14,15) after we get into Heathrow. We're already booked for September 18-22 at Glyn Isa so my thought was to take those 2 days in between to travel north so we didn't have to go from Ludlow to Glyn Isa in one day, and could meander our way north.

What about somewhere around Llangolen the next night if I can find a place in Ludlow?

I think I actually saw that the people who ran #28 sold it and have a new B&B or hotel but I can't find it at the moment.

I've heard some other good reviews about Hibiscus, I couldn't find out too much myself, their website was really slow for me

Ludlow is a delightful little town - I lived about 5 miles away (right out in the sticks!) for 3 years, but it was so long ago I cannot remember enough to help you.

However, if you go to goodle and type in tourist information ludlow, and click on the accommodation links you get several results, some being...

http://www.ludlow.org.uk/accomm2.asp

http://www.shropshiretourism.info/accommodation/

Hope this helps, and I hope you enjoy Ludlow and have a great trip.
