lucero, spain

A few years ago I was driving from Rota, Spain to Granada. I had to leave the highway because of construction, got lost and after some time on really back roads, I came across a walled town that I believe was named Lucero. I have since tried to find info about it on the internet but have had no luck. Perhaps I don't have the name right. Does anyone know of this town and anything about it?

Pueblo-Lucero might be the correct name.
Check this site.
Pueblo-Lucero (in Alicante)

I didn't see any particular photos of walls, etc. but maybe if you google more about Pueblo-Lucero and you'll find a bit more information. There are a lot of interest for homes in that area.

Hope you find your quest.

Thanks Blackduff, but that is not it. Pueblo Lucero is on the Costa Brava and I was well inland. I was on the A-4 headed for A-92 when I had to leave the road because of construction and became lost. The last few kilometers approaching "Lucero" were heavily wooded - even saw some hunters walking on the road. When I finally found A-92 I think I was near Osuna and that was after driving around for a couple of hours, partly on unpaved roads. I sure got to see some of Spain that was off of the tourist track. I'll keep looking.

try lucena

How would s trip to Rota to Granada get you to the Costa Brava? Lucena is more probable.

If you were near Osuna and the A 92 it was probably Lucena, which is northeast of the A 92 above Antequera.

Could be Lucena although Lucena seems much larger than the town I am looking for. The entrance to the town was part of the wall, similar to that of Trier, Germany but not nearly as big. Thanks for helping. I think that I will contact the Spanish Consulate and ask. I am looking for this town because I have a good friend surmamed Lucero. When I returned from my trip, I mentioned the town to him and he said that he would love to visit it, and now he is planning a trip to Spain for next year. If I get any info, I will post it.

i cannot find any info on this named town in any map or at paginasamarillas.es, or guiacampsa.com...
let us know what you find out.

i am intrigued.

i just used mappy.com which gave me a long list of towns with similar sounding names.
could it be LUCAR? it looks small enough and was very important in its day.

lincasanova - Lucar would be too far afield. I could wandered well north of A-92 though. I don't get lost too often, but when I do, I really do a job of it. As mentioned, I will check with the consulate. Perhaps they can help and I'll post the results.

Did you ever find (or find again) the walled town of lucero? My brother in law, named Lucero, would like to visit that town, but I can't find it on google earth, mapquest or any other search engine.
Let me know if you had any luck.
