Lucerne to Milan Malpensa Airport

Hi
Have just 'found' you!
I am travelling to Lucerne soon and have a midweek flight home out of Milan (Malpensa) airport at 07.25. Eeek. Is there a very early train from Lucerne to Milan airport? or does anyone have any other suggestions?
Many thanks

I think you need to take the train to Milan Malpensa the day before. There are plenty of hotels at the Malpensa airport and surrounding.

Lucerne is at least five hours from Milan let alone the airport - go to Milan the night before is the only way you'll make that flight.

Unless you mean Lugano and not Lucerne?

No I mean Lucerne.
5 hours!
Yes in that case it's an overnight stay in the airport environs.
Thanks for your replies.
Next task is to find the cheapest hotel!

I use expedia to research Malpensa for hotels. As far as train ride, Milan is closer to 3 hours by train, but then you have to add the train to Malpensa airport.

Luzern depart 13:21 7 IR 2173
Arth-Goldau arr 13:46 5
Arth-Goldau dep 13:50 4 CIS 155 CISALPINO,
Milano Centrale arr 16:42
Duration: 3:21; runs daily

Yes I've just done a hotel search and there's plenty of availability.
Thanks for the train times info.
That's the one I'll be catching I expect.
Excellent stuff.
Thanks again

That particular time has the shortest waiting time in Arth Goldau, but if you want to see the Milan cathedral or stroll around it, you can leave earlier and leave your luggage at the station storage.
The CISALPINO train is rather nice to ride on, complete with swiveling seats and table where you can bring your breakfast to or buy it on board. Have a nice time in Lucerne!
