Lucca lodging

Anyone have good hotel or bed and breakfast suggestions for Lucca? Will be there next June. We like to spend less than $100 euro when possible or a little more. A quiet room and comfortable bed are essential. Would like to be within the walls if can find that but will go outside if not.

I have visited Lucca twice, and both times stayed in an Apartment just north of the city walls.

I´m on my way to Lucca in a couple of days. Will stay at a B&B callled La Romea. Will post after and let you know if I like it. It´s less than 100 euros

We stayed in Piccolo Puccini a few years ago, and it was charming and quaint, furnished with antiques. There was no A/C (end of May; really didn't need it), but there were ceiling fans. When I looked at website just now, I was a bit surprised that it is a 3 star; I would classify it as a nice 2 star. It's well located within the walls.

And I'll echo that the Piccolo Puccini was charming. We were there during the heat wave of August 2003 and even then the ceiling fan and floor to ceiling windows kept it comfortable. And the view of San Michele di Foro down the street was magical. When we were shown to our room, the gentleman told us we would be sleeping with angels as he pointed to the church. Unless it's changed, no breakfast was provided but my husband found a wonderful bakery just around the corner.

La Romea is very nice and comfortable. they provide an ample breakfast included in the rates. The owner are lovely. It's like living in your own piccolo palazzo.
