LTU Airlines

I'm traveling to Germany this summer via LTU airlines. Has anyone ever flown with them before? Are they reliable and safe?

I have, I really liked them too, and at the end of the flight, the passengers all applaud, I was told it is a German thing.

I would fly them again.

LTU is a very old German charter airline. They flew Lockheed L1011's in the 1970's but they no longer do. I think they now fly Airbus A330's (which look a bit like the Boeing 777) but I'm not sure.

My guess is that the seating is somewhat tight and there are mostly noisy German speaking tourists aboard. Of course, foreign tourists are always noisy!

Travelled on enough Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines flights and never had the clapping - so probably a charter thing for the Germans. Only flights I have had that was when there were a lot of Latin- country places - Brazil especially and to lesser extent Italy.
