low cost auto rentals--germany/austria and switzerland

i have recently come across the fabulous car rental broker www.gemut.com...i saw mention of them on a thread here on fodors and have followed up...

i have lowered my original $420 price to $270 (germany) through them using hertz in both cases..

GIVE THEM A LOOK-SEE I THINK YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED

rhkkmk:
Have you made the trip already? I'd be interested to hear about your experience (good or bad) with them.

Did you know that they are also air-fare consolidators and offer some attractively low prices?

At prices starting ata round 160 Euros a week this the best deal I have ever seen, almost too good to be true.

My best deal was last year when I picked up a brand new manual Peugeot 206 in Strasbourg for 210 Euros a week, but that price was linked to a five-week hire period, and would have been a higher rate for a shorter hire period.

There is no info on the site about possible restrictions on pick-up and drop-off and range of travel. I also note you only get third party insurance. What is the excess on this? I guess I would like more details.

re the insurance....when i spoke with them he said to me that it is only the basic insurance, which is what i wanted...he asked if i wouldn't be waiving the other insurance with my credit card, which of course i am....i thought everyone did this waiver to save money??? the rental i have is with hertz so it is whatever their insurance costs are...

Just got back from a 30 day trip in Germany and France and also used Gemut.
For a Ford Mondeo for 30 days the price with tax was just a tad over $800. That was about $200 cheaper than everyone else.
