we were in rome last october & it was outstanding. Crowded, yes! Noisy, yes!
Dirty, yes! and many other problems, yes! But, it was outstanding. Rent a condo, stay 2 weeks, eat in/eat out. Mix with the people. Take the metro/bus/train, get lost. DO IT!
We went because it is Rome & it is different. It is not NYC/CHI/LA, thank god, or why would you have gone?
This is one of the cradles of civilization & if not for them, probably no us!
Not cheap by the way! But, we are going back again..........soon!
We are irish/italian couple & are not selling anything.

We are definitely going back again!

Message Bob/Marlene
I have never forgotten the excitement I felt when I arrived in Rome the first time - it was my first love - but over the years I think I enjoy Assisi more now, it's peace (even in the midst of get crowds) and beauty is good for my soul - maybe it is old age?
Helen Donegan, editor Italywithus.com -
a free monthly eZine.
[email protected]
www.italywithus.com

Helen - Perhaps you should e-mail the fodors folks directly and ask them if you should or should not be posting your e-Zine address. They're at [email protected]

But I must say, yours is one of the most interesting e-Zines I've read in a while. I have thoroughly enjoyed them. Very informative. Keep 'em coming!
