louvre visit

Is it worth booking a museum tour or buying a museum pass to bypass lines at the Louvre. We probably won't do too many other museums because we're with our 3 kids.

No just wait in line - thin out later in day and kids will probably be free if young enough or discounted if under 26. Go after 3 pm and i believe it's about half-priced for everyone and is open to about 7 or 8 (not exactly sure) - definitely not worth the pass - have one person wait in line whilst the other parent frolicks with the kids near by the fountains near the entrance.

And i believe you can buy entrance tickets without waiting in line in the underground shopping mall by the subterranean parking lots in the machines with a credit card or cash. Check it out if there's a long wait at the main entrance.

We were in Paris a few weeks ago, and it wasn't even crowded season yet...supposedly. We bought the museum passes, and the lines we were able to bypass made it worthwhile.

ranlee: if you really only want to go to the Louvre - then there are other ways to avoid the lines.

But - I assume you realize the Museum Pass covers a LOT of places other than museums . . . . .
