Lourmarin in Provence

Has anyone been to this town. Is it worth it?
it is a nice village with a super restaurant at the moulin de lourmarin.
I found a great ink well with a cigale(that I collect) at a shop there. If you are a literary person....Camus is buried there. All the villages are worth a first time visit.

I was in Lourmarin for a brief visit in Oct. 2000. I think it is one of the prettier villages of the Luberon. (Peter Mayle now lives there, if that's any indication.) There is a XIV-XV century chateau that can be visited during high season. For more info go to
www.lourmarin.com Enjoy your visit!

Judie,

Agree with other posters about Lourmarin. You don't say if you're going to stay there or just want to pop in and see the town. I visited for a couple of hours (unfortunately missed the guided visit to the chateau) and thought it was charming. I was staying about 20 minutes away otherwise wouldn't have gone there. I think there are many equally pretty towns in the area so I wouldn't go far out of my way to visit.

Adrienne

Thanks for the info. I wanted to know whether I should include it on my village tour.
