Loucas Hotel, Santorini?

Has anyone stayed here and if so how would you rate it, was it quiet at night?

Bobbie,

The Loucas hotel is great for its view, location and price. The rooms were decent enough although the service is not so great. Be prepared to carry your luggage up several steps when you check out(staff refused to help). However, you'll have your own balcony to sit and marvel at the caldera and it was very quiet (was there last May). I'd stay there again if I ever return to Santorini. Make sure you eat at the restaurant below (forgot name) the food was delicious.

Have a great time!

We are also booked there in June for our first visit to Santorini. Arriving by ferry from Crete. How do we get to the hotel upon arrival??? Mainly adding this post to bring this message to the top for further comments on the Loucas.

Patrick and anyone else staying at loucas,

Contact the Loucas Hotel and have them arrange a pickup from the port for you. They picked us from the airport but we did not arrange anything for our departure and it was a problem. There are cabs available but there is a pickup point which is a 10 minute walk from hotel and not to mention the stairs you have to climb. Cabs cannot do door to door service since everything is built into the cliffs.

Do not let this transportation thing spoil it for you. Just have it done in advance to avoid the hassle. The hotel is great and as I said earlier, the location and view are well worth it.
Linda
