Lost SD card 32.0 GB in Europe on June 2013
 

Hi Everyone

I am 30 years old Chinese man. I have been to Europe with my wife for our honey month recently. But when we come back home, we cannot find our storage card which store most of the pictures take in this honey month. It is very very important for us.

The capacity of our card is 32GB. The card is full of the pictures are taken from 13 June to 18 June in France and Switzerland. More strictly speaking, it is a TF card hold in a SD card adapter.

After 18 June, we have come to Luzern, Zurich, Fussen, Munich, Schwabisch Hall, and Frankfurt. I do not know the card is lost in which city.

I am hoping someone will read this and find us any information. You help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless to all.

and I hope someone else gives you more places to post this can take along time but you MAY be lucky. I hope so. How disappointing!

Sorry to hear of your bad luck, Mr. Chinese man. I can identify with your sense of loss. Once I took some surplus items to a donation store, only to realize a few days later, that I had mistakenly thrown out some photos of a European trip we had just returned from.

I hope you and your SD are reunited!

FWIW, I recently learned what I thought a great tip: After clearing any memory card, the first thing I do is to take a photograph of a message that says how to contact me if the memory card is found. No guarantee that it will help, but at least is gives good Samaritans an avenue for action.

I think a take away from this kind of post is to backup images every night to control the damage if the photos are the key end result of each trip you want to keep. It is quite easy to back up data to a smartphone, a tablet, a pc, or a Mac, to a web site (that does not tinker with the resolution), or to another memory card using a usb host mode capable device.

Who takes a 32GB card out of their camera? And why?

Who? People who back up to a computer, for example.

Yes, the camera comes with a cable for downloading, but the cable is one more damn thing to keep up with. Chance losing the cable or chance losing the card.

There is also no circumstance in which I want to use anyone's proprietary software to manage my photographs, not Canon, not, for Pete's sake, Apple's or Microsoft. You may legitimately feel differently.

How terrible, hope it is returned to you. We start every vacation with a picture of our "travel" cards on our camera. It has our email and little homepage info in the hopes that a generous person would find our lost camera. If it stolen then one is probably out of luck. I would be so bummed to lose my pics :(

It's a little late to give advice, but I download my photos every single day when I am on a trip.

I transfer photos from my SD card to my iPad every night when traveling. Good luck in finding them Mindhawk.

I love the advice about taking an image of your contact info. I hadn't thought to do that.

If you search for "Fundbüro" (or Fundbuero) plus city name, you'll find the office where people bring stuff they've found on the street. If there's a chance that you lost it on a train, the railway also has its on lost&found places.
