LOL pantelia, actually I did end up in another cornfield, but one owned by a husband of a good friend. And believe it or not it was beautiful along with something like seven houses where the employees lived. All beautiful house with flowers growing around the houses and in window boxes. But that was a complete different situation. Get some good sleep, I always have jetleg after returning home.

A really entertaining report, bringinig back happy memories of my first visit to Italy & Florence fity years ago, where I bought my "Divorce Ring" on the Ponti Vecchio!! ( I still have it) but I exchanged it for a Platignum wedding ring 3 yrs later I hope you find such a good man & take him to Florence as I did.& after reading your report we hope to be going back soon.

Such a fun and entertaining report. I really laughed out loud when I got to the part about the David/mythbusters/hand-feet size thing.

Highly entertaining report. I love your opinions, but beg to differ on one account: American women love it when Italian men flirt whether they (the American women) are divorced or still married! Very good for the ego . . . Just my opinion, of course

Dear lord, sounds like she just got divorced, we don't have to marry her off again already, do we? Can't we wish her well without wishing marriage upon her?

Thank you for this entertaining, yet still informative, twist on Italy. I'm leaving shortly for my first trip, and am ever more intrigued by what may be to come. I look forward to more...

pantella:

I knew yours would be a great report when you persevered with your Venice day trip despite all our objections! Your spirit showed in that thread and I've looked forward to hearing all about it.

And you hit it outta the park! What a fun read. We laughed our way through Italy earlier this year...must be something in the vino!

Can't wait to hear "the details". Don't sleep too long!

Thank you all for your replies! I'm still waist high in boxes, moving from one house to the other...please be patient, a detailed report will be posted! I'm thinking mid-week next week is probably a good ballpark timeframe!

Happy Travels!

Well, it took longer than I thought! I've been working on the full trip report, trying to figure out how to combine my report, and the report of L who took meticulous notes. It's not working as well as I expected!

I thought I'd at least share some photos. This is the first group of photos from TPA through the end of the Rome portion of our trip. They are from three different cameras, so there are some duplicates. I'll post the rest as soon as I get them loaded. Enjoy!

"The (I know I won't spell this right) Carabinieri (police) will stand around with their hands in their pockets when the drunk old man falls out of his seat in the waiting hall at the Bologna train station. And when the other polizia come, they will put their hands in their pockets as well."

Love it!!! Gave me a chuckle.

Looking forward to your detailed report and thanks for sharing!
