L'Orangerie - is it open?

We will be in Paris in early March. I can't seem to find out if the Orangerie has re-opened. Does anyone know? Thanks.

This question has cropped up a few times in the last couple of months and the answer, sadly, is no it is not open now and will not be open in 2002.<BR>BTilke

Just to confirm - BTilke is correct. According to what I've seen online, it's scheduled to reopen in Dec. of this year, but that doesn't help you, does it? BTW, does anyone know whether the huge Water Lilies paintings that were in the Orangerie are being displayed elsewhere in Paris?

If you want to view some of Monet's water lillies, you can visit the Marmottan, which has 65 or so of Claude Monet's paintings, along with works from his own collection of Impressionistic paintings. Marmottan's collection may be more important than that of the Orangerie. Great setting in the 16th.

The last I saw on a website was 2004. It must be some renovation because it was closed last August when we were there.

Marmottan well worth the visit, but nothing else matches being totally surrounded by the waterlily panels in l'Orangerie, which cannot be displayed elsewhere.
