Looking for town to visit via train from Livorno
I am racking my brain and searching like crazy for a town to visit on our stop in the summer during a cruise to Livorno.
We will not have a car (can't talk dh into driving in Italy!).
We have been to Lucca and really enjoyed it last time and we have been to Florence and Pisa several times.
Can anyone give me some suggestion via train - thanks!!!

I'm a big fan of Pistoia, a few stops beyond Lucca on the train line:

If views are what you are after, I wouldn't go all the way to le Cinque Terre. Take the funicular in Livorno up to the Sanctuary of Montenero, a town where Lord Byron also used have a villa. There are places up there you can enjoy lunch.

Never been here, but it's on the train line:

By the way, have you thought of touring Livorno?

Montecatini Terme, one of Europe's most fashionable spas and one set in a country club-like so un-Italian setting, is also a short train ride from Livorno - just beyond Lucca.
And Pinnochio's town - Collodi (sp?) hovers above Lucca
