Looking for the name of a particular thermal bath ...
We stumbled apon it two years ago and want to return but can't remember the name. It
has a HOT waterfall at one end thats seperate from the large pool. If you drive past it up the hill you end up at some sort of medical facility, we were staying in Montalchino,so its somewhere in that general vicinity. This is not a luxury spa with mud treatments, its all Italians except for us.
Its not a historical place or at all touristry. The town may (or may not) have started with a G. Can anybody help me out?
thanks, Newt

Could it be one of the ones near Gambassi?

No problem and my guess may be even further off base, I can't remember that place, but it sounds familiar.
The "drive past it up the hill" part and the "hot waterfall separate from the pool" didn't sound like Bagno Vignoni, though, and I was just there a few months ago.

newt, we were just there last Thursday. It is just down the road from Bagno Vignoni -- about 10 minutes. We originally went to BV, but it was closed on Thursday afternoon for cleaning.
The hot waterfalls were wonderful. They charged 7 Euros to get in, 2 Euros for a nice big fluffy towel, and much to my surprise, there were no fashion statements in the pool area (topless bathing).
We also were the only American tourists there. Enjoy the trip there. It was great fun.
