Looking for that perfect little apartment rental in Paris- 2 adults/ 2 kids
 

I am starting a new topic since I have decided to forgo the initial plan of three days in London followed by 5 in Paris. Now- we will fly into and out of Orly (flights are running $1155 with nice, short duration flight plans).

It seems that hotels are expensive and small, so I was looking at apartments. I feel very comfortable squeezing into a 35 square meter or larger 1-bedroom apartment with two children (ages 10 and 12, but on the small side for their ages). We will be spending most of our time out of the apartment.

If someone knows "the perfect place" in Paris that is near metro/bus stops, is centrally located, is not on ground floor (stairs are okay- we can handle it), includes a shower, sleeps 4 (sofabed for two children is fine), has at least a small refrigerator and microwave/stovetop, has free wifi, is clean, and costs $250 (see, I upped my budget here) or less per night- please feel free to share! :) I have spent more hours than I care to admit on VRBO/Homeway, rentparis, parisperfect (too pricey for this trip), and others and am a bit overwhelmed by it all. I suppose this is why people just book a hotel room and move on with their lives!

You could do better than that taking the Eurostar; it advertises some fares for $91 and one saves on the time it takes to get to and from the airports.

I've booked 3 times with Paris Address, and I like their search engine.

Would you put the kids on the sofa bed together?

And how is she going to get to France from the US via Eurostar? She DITCHED the London part of the trip.

To the OP: maybe you'll get good suggestions here, but the best work will be your own because you can match your needs better than we can. A quick google search for "paris flats short term rent" will pull up a ton of agencies. And those agencies should have pinpoint locations for each apartment they advertise so that you can see on the map they provide where your flat would be relative to the nearest Metro stop.

And look generally in arondissements 4-7.

No more London. 8 nights in Paris. Believe me, I have been searching and searching. I have around 20 tabs open and am finding so many wonderful little places. I am trying really hard to stay at $2,000 or less for lodging (and my original budget was $1250). Right now, I have spent time at myparisvisit.com. Most of their properties are near the Louvre (which I understand may mean more expensive- and not as good- restaurants/cafes.)

Great location, easy company to work with. 1/2 bath on main level and shower room on loft level. Loft level is full height.

I stayed here a few years ago with my mother and two sisters.

It was nicely located directly across from the Pont Neuf and there was lots of space to spread out and relax after a long day of touring. We loved it.

Thank you for the recommendations! I know everyone is different and ultimately I will need to research to find the best fit for me- but it is really interesting to see what others (who have spent their own hours and hours of research) have come up with.

Michael- no worries. I will end this thread- as I just received word that we are back to a trip for two to Paris (no kids). I think I found the perfect place (since I increased my lodging budget to accommodate kids- I will keep the higher budget for a fabulous efficiency with a view in the 5th). After I confirm it, I will post it in a new link. I am sure I will have many more questions in the weeks to come!

Can recommend 1 in the 4th for $200 night with 2 bedrooms and 3 beds if you need it. Some peculiarities with it. Why do Parisian men pee in the street?

My absolute favorite location in Paris and I have stayed in this apartment twice. Close to supermarket, restaurants and walking distance to most attractions.

Disclaimer that the futon in the living room was pretty hard but we added some extra bedding we found to make it better. Would probably be ok for kids.

We've used Paris Vacation Apartments several times and have been quite happy with the agency. Looks like they have a studio and one bedroom available for your dates.

We've used Paris Addresse several times and were very happy. Last year we stayed on the Rue Montorgueil. Fabulous location on a street full of food shops, restaurants, and cafés. Easy walk to 2 different Metro stops.

reg2014ak, just curious as to which appartment you rented on Rue Montorgeueil... is it Les Bains? I've been looking at that one for a couple years but hesitated a bit because of the location... last time I rented on Rue Rambuteau... that street is paradise for a foodie :)

I guess it's technically on the Rue des Petits Carreaux which continues Montorgueil. It was just right for 2 of us. It would have felt pretty crowded for 4.
