Venice Airport: How Long to Get Through Passport Clearance

Can anyone give me an idea of how long it takes to get through the luggage retrieval and passport clearance process at the Venice Airport? We would like to book a private or shared water taxi with Venetoinside.com. However, the company indicates that they will pick us up an hour after our flight arrives (they, of course, monitor flight arrivals). Is this enough time to deplane, get our luggage, and go through passport clearance?

Any taxi service worth its reputation will know how much time it takes for passengers to get from a landed plane to the water docks where you'll board the taxi boat. One hour sounds exactly right to me.

On the other hand, this looks like a clever way to advertise a new website and a new service. If I am mistaken, then I recommend you compare prices at Venicelink.com. IMO, it's very difficult to beat their shared taxi price of 25€, and they've been in business a very long time.

I think nyt may be on to something . . . register to post a link to a taxi service

(In case it is legit - it is quite a loooooong walk from the terminals to the water taxis)

Depends on what you book; if you spring for a private taxi they DRIVE you from the terminal to the dock.

I had a similar arrangement in October 2013 and it worked fine-no problem.

But you are confused. First YOU go through Immigration - then you pick up your luggage and walk out the Green (notng to declare) lane. The later takes about 2 minutes - the former varies based on how many flights have just landed.

An hour seems ok.

Thank you all so much for your input and suggestions. I will definitely look into Venicelink.com.
