The place I like best for a view over the city at sunset, and extremely good food for a wonderful dinner, is the La Terrazza restaurant on the top floor of the Hotel Eden, just a couple of blocks off the Via Veneto. You will have to be sure to reserve ahead. I have thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the service there.

I agree with the suggestion for the Hotel Eden. Wonderful panoramic view over Rome from their restaurant. We had breakfast there with some English friends who were lucky enough to be staying there. It's near the Spanish Steps. The hotel has a website.
Kay

I love the view from LaTerrazza and it is a bit more convenient than La Pergola. I haven't been to La Pergola but I've heard wonderful things about it, also. The deciding factor may be convenience...

Enjoy either...

Dona

From their website this restaurant looks expensive. Is it? Can someone give me an idea of the prices? Also, how far in advance do reservations have to be make? Can we make them when we arrive in Rome next week? Thanks!

Opps! Sorry. I am speaking of La Terrazza restaurant in the Hotel Eden.

The restaurant at Hotel Eden seemed very expensive to me. I think about 34 euro for a cooked breakfast if that's any help.
You could always email them and ask approximate price for a main course.
Kay

Does the Hotel Eden also have a bar to enjoy the view with just a drink?
