Looking for rental to accomodate extended family on/near beach in GREECE

Please help if you have any ideas...

There will be 18 of us, 3 generations, celebrating grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary.

Want to be near the beach, preferably on the beach. anywhere in mainland or islands is fine!

Either a large villa, houses next to each other, or some kind of b and b type inn that we can rent out...

ALL ideas appreciated!!!

thanks so much!!

thanks so much!

What about the golden sands and protective bay (good for children) of Kanapitsa Bay in Skiathos. What is nice is that you are way from Skiathos town but can get there by water taxis or walk to a bus stop.

I came there by a little boat, swam in the beach there, stayed for a drink at the taverna and explored the beaches next to it by boat, but I also did pass through it by bus as well. The scenery from the water is really nice, the water clear and shallow from the shore. That beach and the nearby ones are all sandy (like many of the wonderful beaches in Skiathos)and not crowded even during the August 15 holiday when I was there. I loved the island of Skopelos more but the beaches aren't great(still OK). Skiathos does have the great beaches and what is great is that you can easily take the frequent ferry to and back to Skopelos.

Dina, did I miss something? Where did you say WHEN this family trip will take place? It does make a difference in what we would recommend.

Thanks for all the input. I'm looking at a lot of different properties, but one in zakynthos is standing out.

it's part of the peligano beach club?

anyone know the area of northeast zakynthos, near aghios nikolaos?

thanks!

Not a small hotel, right? If by any chance you are interested, I'd highly recommend GOLDEN BEACH HOTEL in Paros. It's a boutique hotel located right on one of the best beaches in Paros, Golden Beach, which is home to the world windsurfing championships. It's a fairly long beach- about a mile or so- and incredibly beautiful. Also within a 15 minute drive of the port city of Nauossa, which is full of wonderful seafood restaurants and tons of good shopping/nightlife.

If this doesn't appeal, you could try locating a realtor in the town of Ampelas,a small fisherman's village just outside Naoussa. We stayed in a summer home owned by Greek friends, and there is a small beach right in town. Again, an easy drive into Nauossa, or anywhere else on Paros.

This is a cluster of villas where you can mix and match to suit the number of guests. I know Agios Ioannis well and where these villas are located. A superb, very quiet and special part of the island with fantastic views over to Delos plus 5-minute walk to two small quiet beaches (Agios Ioannis and Kapari). If using local transport the journey time is only 10 minutes to Mykonos town:

No problem if you have already decided that Mykonos isn't for you but just throwing this in as a suggestion. (I know of other villas on the island that could fit your spec - if you need more info just let me know)

Zakynthos is a beautiful, Agios nikolaos tends to be a main destination for water sport lovers, and it is also a young crowd and has the tendency to get noisy (that may not be a problem for most people but something to consider). Gerakas beach might be something to consider, but the shore is rocky. Are you strictly interested in the Ionian? If so, you should also think about Paxi/Anti-Paxi.
