Looking for Private Driver Name/Recommendation in Spain
Hi,
Myself + 3 friends are travelling to Spain in October and are looking to find a private driver that will drive us from Madrid to Seville etc... I am NOT looking for recommendations to use the High Speed Train (I am already aware of that option)...But am looking to hear from anyone that actually managed to book a private driver :) Seems they are not as easy to find, as in Italy etc. Thanks in Advance!! |
I don't know about Spain, but if you ever happen to be in Paris, this guy is really nice. So, you might want to bookmark it for the future, as private drivers are not easy to come by. And he drives clients to various countries.

Thanks! I have one in Italy if anyone is going. He was GREAT! And reasonably priced.

It's not typical in Spain, most private drives stay in their local area, but you have some good options for smaller groups, depending on your budget and style.
Abaser (www.abaser.es/en/everywhere) Event Plus (www.eventoplus.com) Auto Venture (www.autoventure.com/shorex/spain.html) Autocares Ruiz Muñoz (www.ruizmunoz.com) |
I forgot to mention that you an expect to pay €600 to €800/day for a licensed, bonded and insured private driver/guide, plus expenses if the driver has to stay overnight.

Robert,
That is the exact reason why I am not looking for a fancy car company... But more of a private driver.I had no problems finding them in all the other countries :) In Spain they seem to charge an arm and a leg just for driving you a few hours. |
We know a few people in Portugal and France that offer such services, and we use them, but the rules, licensing regulations and insurance requirements governing hired cars are different in Spain. You'll see that in the typical city or village in Spain there is only one taxi service available. It's not an open market where anything goes.
The cost of a taxi/carriage license in Spain is quite expensive and most people do not want to deal with the Guardia Civil should someone turn them in for one reason or another. €600 for 12 hours of someones time and wear and tear on their vehicle (6 hours each way for the driver) isn't excessive. Fuel cost alone would be more than €100 for the round-trip. If you do find a private driver that fits your needs and budget, make sure they are insured, bonded and licensed. |
Are you insured, bonded and licensed? Very doubtful, especially after seeing your other post.

Robert...strange Reyash is also offering the same service in the UK
