Looking for new places to shop in London
Hi - I'm setting aside some time on my next London trip to replenish my wardrobe, and looking for suggestions. I'm over 40, not exactly thin, and like a style that includes loose-fitting, flowy, slightly "ethnic-y" clothes (unstructured jackets, wide-legged pants), loads of pashminas, dramatic necklaces, ankle boots... I tend to wear black a lot, then accessorize like crazy.
I used to like East, though less so recently, and more for accessories than clothes. There's a shop on Kings Rd called Sahara that looks promising... other ideas? I suspect what I'm looking for is out there, but independent rather than a chain. I don't want to pay designer prices, but it doesn't have to be a street market either.
Can any Londoners point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by 'not exactly thin' but you could try Beige - they have a few locations: http://www.beigeplus.com/

Sahara's clothes are well made, but not cheap and a lot of their stock is dry clean only. They do have good sales - when we lived in Maidenhead, I used to carefully go through the sales racks at the Marlow store.

Occasionally I would find something along the same lines at East, although IMO, the quality level is below Sahara.

One last suggestion: Nitya. High end, Indian-influenced, based in Paris, beautiful clothes. They used to have a store on Bond Street, but I understand that's closed. However, I think their line is still sold in the House of Fraser store on Oxford Street.
Their website (note the boutiques/stores button on the website doesn't seem to work).
