Looking for Modern style hotel in Venice (not outlying areas)

Hello,
I love the sleek ultramodern style boutique hotels in other European countries - Prague, Helsinki, Barceona....anywhere. Are there any such modern hotels in Venice proper (not Lido, Guidecca, Mestre, etc) ? I've searched on Expedia, hotels.com, tripavidors.com....and can't find anything but classical style hotels.
Thank you,
Robin

well, sleek and ultramodern just don't seem very Venice to me- it's just such a different spot.....we did, however, stay at an amazing "boutique" hotel there just this past October - Al Ponte Antico, only 9 rooms, I believe, and we had a room that was exactly on the Grand Canal, look right from the breakfast balcony and you were looking at the Rialto Bridge. Staff is marvelous, and it was without doubt THE best cappucino found in all of Italy!
just sayin'....

Look at www.splendia.com; they classify hotels as contemporary and "design".

There are the following ultra modern hotels that can meet your expectations:

Ca'Pisani Hotel in Dorsoduro (close to the Accademia)
The Charming House Hotel (same area)
Hotel Palace Bonvecchiati - San Marco

For their websites, just Google the names. I am not sure if we are allowed to include links in this forum.
Good luck!

The Ca'Pisani is a simply wonderful design hotel, crafted from a 16th c. Palazzo, but exquisitely modern inside. Personally I can't stand Venetian bric-a-brac, so I found the hotel a relief, with a great jacuzzi too. It's in an ideal location, just behind the Accademia museum in the Dorsoduro, convenient to everything. (Staying on the Grand Canal would be too noisy for me.)

By the way, "sleek and ultramodern" is prized in Venice, which takes great pride in hosting the Biennale, the Venice Film Festival and being the home of Peggy Guggenheim's modern art collection. Modern art and design is just as Venetian as gondolas and masks.

www.bauervenezia.com

best for me kind of looks sleek in the front

Staying there personally in 2 weeks free Canal Suite

with FF miles

betterbidding.com Hilton Stuky Molino bidding Priceline.com

for me from $120 best for price.

Sleek high rises prohibited pretty much in this ancient

water city...

Mestre nearby euroindustrial has those if desired

booking.com otel.com good values there.

Location not great though.

Happy Hunting,

Hotel Antony
Orlanda 182, Mestre • Show map
The Antony is a hotel with spacious rooms and a magnificent view of the Venetian Lagoon. It provides a shuttle service to/from Marco Polo International Airport and Venice

nice high rise in Mestre with nice views good ratings

great lagoon views from some rooms nice price from

personal experience but shuttle to Venice.

You would do better to stay IN Venice for those

magical Venetian nights...

I agree with zeppole about the Ca'Pisani. It is lovely, modern and in a great location. The service is excellent.
