Looking for input on Globus Tours

Thinking of taking their tour to Italy- Lake Como & Venice. Or does anyone have another suggestion? It will be me (44yrs old) with my parents(70's).

Globus gives you good value for the $. Same book as Brendan, but diff. companies. Check out Tauck, also. We're doing our third trip with Globus--river cruise and have done Australia and N.Z. and also Nashville to Atlanta. Great guides. I don't think you'll be disappointed. And, your parents are lucky they have you to go with them!!

Just did Rome, Venice, Florence tour with Globus in August. Great value for the money (there are some optional meals which cost extra). My tour group ranged in age from 12 - 75. As with any tour it is the tour director and the group you are with that makes or breaks the trip.
I would highly recommend Globus

Had a good tour with them in 1999. Very professional, we had a wonderful tour director. They usually use local guides at the places you actually go into in each city. Most of the time, even if the hotel is not centerally located, there is transportation available. Be sure to read the brochure carefully. Usually, sites listed in bold face or the ones you actually go into, the others are drive-bys. They will list all the meals included each day and what meals you are on your own for. The will offer additonal tours and you can take or leave as you choose. You will get a full list with your travel documents and do NOT have to decide before you get to your destination. If you want more time on your own, then scrap the extras. We had a good group with a wide range of ages as mentioned by a poster above. I know my sister-in-law still keeps in contact with some of the other tour members. I didn't get that close to anyone...hmmmm..I'm just a snotty person..LOL...just kidding. Almost everyone was very nice, but I found I just prefered to do my own thing more often than some of them. Globus has been in business for a very long time, have good financial stability, and from my experience, delivered as promised. That does NOT mean that they wouldn't cancel a tour if they didn't get enough people to take it or some such thing. I think they do have a number of guaranteed departures. They give good value so I think you and your parents should have a great time.

I just got the following notice about a promotion by Globus ... Booked by Feb. 28, there's a discount:

Book your clients on a 2007 Globus, Brennan, Cosmos, Monograms or Avalon Waterways air-inclusive European vacation between January 3 and February 28, 2007, and they will save $200 per couple.
