Looking for hotels along Costa del Sol in September. Any ideas?
I am heading for the Costa del Sol in about the middle of our 3 week trip to Spain in September. I guess I'm a little late getting to this leg, cause it seems all the hotels along the coast are full, or in the case of Balcon de Europa, have a 3 night minimum. We only have 2 nights. We will be coming from Seville (3 nights) Ronda (3 nights), and headed for Granada, then Barcelona, having been in Madrid prior to Seville.
I was hoping for a place along the coast somewhere in the Malaga/Nerja area for 2 nights so we can get our "beach day." The shear number of hotels along the coast is daunting. Riu and Parador's are full. So are a number of other places I've checked. If I have to, then staying a bit off the beach is ok, so are there any suggestions out there. We prefer the smaller "botique" hotels, but realizing that this is a beach town, we can adapt. Thanks for anything. |
Hotel Carabeo is an excellent boutique hotel in Nerja. Just by the seafront overlooking one of the city's many beaches, and 3 mins walk away from Balcón de Europa/center of town.
http://www.hotelcarabeo.com/ The Parador de Nerja and Hotel Plaza Cavana are also great options, high standard and ideal locations close to everything. Make sure what they call "dirt" is not flowing along the beaches in Nerja and the costa.

We're staying at the Marriott in Marbella. It's not a boutique hotel--- more of a timeshare thing--- but beautiful. Check it out. I know several people who have stayed at it and enjoyed it.

I stayed at the Marriott in Marbella. It's very nice.
It is a Marriott Vacation Club w/ 1, 2, and 3 bedroom villas. But, you don't need to be an owner, you can pay for a villa. |
