I stayed at Hotel dei Cavalieri 4-star at the end of July this year. It's by Missori subway station but only 5 minutes or less walk to Piazza Duomo. I was very happy with the hotel, location, it's modern design, view from the roof top terrace and above all, Jul/Aug was low season so it costed only 75 euro for a double room and that included buffet breakfast. And aircon worked perfect. You really need it in the season. I visited Venice and Milano then and said to myself if I had a choice I would never travel to those cities in mid-summer. It was that hot! I booked thru Venere.com that was cheaper than 95 Euro thru hotel's own site.

Try Hotel Spadari Al Duomo.

I loved the Grand Duca di York. Great location, sweet staff, nice breakfast...

Hotel Straf. I think it's a 4-star.

Spadari is good.

Double check on Duca di York's air conditioning.
